Congratulations to the Duke of Edinburgh campers who successfully completed their qualifying journey over the weekend. Unfortunately we did not have the best weather conditions, with fog and rain playing a major role. Nevertheless, the students woke up at 3am and braved the storm. Hiking Mount Bluff Knoll in what can only be described as traditional British weather! The first troopers reached the summit in less than two hours, a fantastic achievement! With the continual rain, the group decided to reward themselves by leaving camp a day early; so they could enjoy the comfort of their own dry beds that evening. In less than an hour students were packed and on board the bus, eager to return to sunshine and warmth. I have never witnessed students pack up camp so quickly! The students were a credit to The King’s College, demonstrating commitment and strength in reaching their goals, despite the lousy conditions!
