Science Teacher – Secondary (FTE 1.0) 2025

About this role

We are excited to invite applications for the position of Science Teacher to join our thriving Science Department, starting in Term 1, 2025. The King’s College Science Department offers a dynamic curriculum, including Years 7-10 WAC Science, as well as Years 11-12 General Psychology, ATAR Psychology, ATAR Physics, ATAR Chemistry, and ATAR Human Biology. e welcome applications from both graduate and experienced teachers. 

The ability to plan and implement a differentiated academic program to cater for a wide range of students’ needs and a love of teaching and learning are prerequisites for this position.

  • Demonstrated active support and commitment to the ethos and values of Christian education, evidenced through previous experience or involvement in Christian educational settings.
  • The candidate should showcase an understanding of how these values translate into curriculum development and teaching practices within an English classroom context.

2. Educational and Professional Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in developing and delivering innovative Science curriculum and instructional strategies tailored to diverse student needs. 
  • Proven commitment to continuous professional development in Science teaching, including staying current with the latest pedagogical trends and integrating them into classroom practice.

Learning Support Teacher – Responsive Education (FTE 1.0) 2025

About this role

Applicants with an upper primary or secondary background are encouraged to apply for the Learning Support Teacher position. This role may also suit a Mathematics, English, Science, or HASS teacher with a background in Learning Support. The position includes a 0.4 teaching component, with the remaining time dedicated to supporting our innovative Lighthouse Responsive Education room, as outlined in the job description.

As a Learning Support Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping students’ future. You’ll be key to fostering an inclusive learning environment that celebrates diversity and meets the needs of students of all abilities. This role begins in Term 1, 2025. Casual Receptionist and/or Student Services Officer Pool

About the Role

The King’s College is seeking a casual Receptionist and/or Student Services Officer for vacation/relief work. This is an ongoing, casual position with potential for ongoing employment. Ideally, you will have good availability between 8am and 4pm Monday through to Friday.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Exemplary customer service skills.
  • High level of personal presentation.
  • Engaging and articulate phone manner.
  • Ability to be calm under pressure.
  • Professional written communication.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Sound experience with Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Outlook.
  • Previous experience working in an educational setting but not essential.
  • Previous experience working with SEQTA but not essential.
  • Current Working With Children Check or willingness to obtain one.
  • Current Police Check or willingness to obtain one.
  • Basic First Aid accreditation (training can be provided).
  • Entitlement to live and work in Australia.

Receptionist Duties

  • Provide reception support that meets the day-to-day requirements of the College.
  • Represent The King’s College as the first point of contact in a professional, warm, friendly, and efficient manner.
  • Management of phone calls and directing enquiries.
  • Mail and deliveries distribution.
  • Recording EFTPOS and cash payments.
  • General administrative duties as required.
  • Assist with the Student Services Desk if and when required.
  • Adhere to the ‘Staff Code of Conduct‘, ‘Child Safety Policy‘ and ‘Statement of Affirmation of Faith’.
  • Always represent the College in a positive manner, whether onsite, in the wider community, or on social media.

Student Services Duties

  • Attend to student enquiries at the Student Services Desk.
  • Manage daily attendance via SEQTA Attendance Administration.
  • Manage and keep up-to-date student health data.
  • Provide First Aid as required.
  • Provide reception support when required.
  • Represent The King’s College in a professional, warm, friendly and efficient manner.
  • General administrative duties as required.

The King’s College is a Pre-kindergarten to Year 12 coeducational school with a current enrolment of 630 students, situated in Wellard in the southern corridor of the metropolitan area. The College is a ministry of The King’s Chapel and has been offering quality education in the area for over 34 years.
