King’s Performing Arts

Music and worship play a significant role in the life of our school and the Music department (KPA) offers students numerous programs, activities, ensembles and events in which to get involved. Under the leadership of Music Director- Ps Michael Battersby, students are given a wonderful range of opportunities to harness, develop and release their creative flair.

Music is right through the school – from our youngest kindy classes where the kids enjoy regular energetic singing and dancing sessions, progressing through to Yr 11 and 12 where VET level awards in music can be achieved (Certificate II, III, IV in Music Industry). These timetabled sessions are specifically designed for each year group to where students develop their creativity, musical literacy, personal expression and collaboration skills.

Along with these tailor-made classroom music encounters, there are a host of optional and extra-curricular music opportunities for students to grow and exhibit their various talents.

These include:

  • Private tuition on an instrument or voice (see peripatetic brochure for list of instruments offered)
  • Choirs
  • Bands
  • Ensembles
  • Chapel Worship Crew
  • Involvement in Assemblies, special items, Eisteddfods, Talent quests and many other performance projects throughout the year including external public performances at community events around Perth.
