Local Politician Congratulates Students

There was a full house at the college assembly recently when the Honourable Reece Whitby MLA, Minister for Emergency Services; Racing and Gaming; Small Business; and Volunteering spoke to staff and students at The King’s College.

He talked about the importance of students taking leadership in their lives and contributing well to their communities, citing the student leadership at The King’s College as a great example of how we all can help to effect change for good.

The Student Leadership, with Mr Whitby’s facilitation, was instrumental in initiating various improvements around the college, with help from State Government funding.

As part of the assembly, he was called upon to present students with Merit Awards for exemplary performance and effort in their schooling.

Mr Whitby also presented The College with a scooter that will be used to raise funds for further student leadership initiatives that will improve campus life at The King’s College.
