New Board Chair
Anthea Gardner was a TKC Board Member from 2012 to 2014. During this time, she was Deputy Chair and Acting Chair. At the AGM held in May 2021, the TKC Board nominated and voted Anthea as Board Chair. She is very excited about partnering and collaborating across a range of key stakeholders, including Dr Gerry McCoy, The Kings Chapel Board, The Kings College Board, The Kings College Principal, Executive and staff, our students and families, and our wider community.
For the past 15 years, Anthea has worked in the corporate arena doing strategic change management for global organisations including BHP, Chevron, Fortescue Mining Group, BP, Toll, along with some utilities companies. Prior to that, she was a Commercial Director for CSIRO in the US and also launched an Australian Wine Import company in Washington DC.
Anthea has a background in teaching and education. She was the Head of Music at Willetton SHS, Como SHS and Girrawheen SHS. She has taught mostly at the secondary level but also at tertiary and primary levels.
Anthea is also a Christian Minister and has served as a worship pastor, teacher and preacher, and been the guest speaker at one-day retreats. Her greatest passion is people connecting authentically with God and creating environments where we can love and support each other to grow into the fullness of whom God intends us to be.
She has lived in Melbourne, Washington DC, London, the Solomon Islands, and most importantly – her home town Perth!
She is excited by the possibilities for The Kings College and is looking forward to meeting you in the near future.
