The King’s College provides a rewarding and challenging Secondary education for Year 7 to 12 students.

Year 7-10 Curriculum

The curriculum is designed to assist and encourage your child to think critically, discover new interests and build their skills. All students participate in English, Literacy, Mathematics, Science, HASS, Physical Education and Health classes.

Students also engage in a range of elective options including Food Science, Digital Technologies, Woodwork, Outdoor Education, Visual Art, Photography, Dance and Music.

Year 11-12 Curriculum

The King’s College offers both ATAR and General pathways within the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE), ensuring every student receives an exceptional, high-quality education, whether pursuing university, vocational training or employment.

Students are supported by experienced staff to select courses that reflect their interests, strengths and future goals.

Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE)

ATAR

For students aiming for direct university entrance.

This pathway requires external examinations in at least four ATAR subjects.

Students can choose from a range of subjects, including Mathematics Applications, Mathematics Methods, Human Biology, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, History, and English.

ACCESS

For students aiming for TAFE, employment, or alternative entry to university.

A wide range of subject options are available, including General courses, VET (Vocational Education and Training) internal and external certificate courses and ATAR courses.

Students may also choose to study the Murdoch University TLC bridging course, complete a Certificate qualification, or develop a university entry portfolio while at the College to achieve direct university entry.

Careers Hub

The King's College Careers Hub is a place for students, families, and the community to access information, tools, and resources to navigate career aspirations and pathways. 

Certificates II, III and IV and Vocational Pathways

At The King’s College, our Certificate offerings support diverse vocational pathways and provide students with practical skills for employment, further training, and future study.

Students can access a range of nationally recognised qualifications, including:

  • Certificate III in Business

  • Certificate III in Sport and Recreation (Aquatics)

  • Certificate II and Certificate IV in Music

Work experience plays an important role in preparing students for life beyond school. Students in Years 10–12 participate in workplace learning during exam breaks and school holidays, providing valuable insight into industry expectations and helping bridge the transition from school to adulthood.

All Year 10 students participate in Careers Day, an immersive experience offering hands-on exposure to a variety of industries, Vocational Education and Training (VET) options, and university pathways. This program supports students to explore future possibilities and make informed decisions during the subject selection process.

Year 10 students also have opportunities to gain recognised micro-credentials, including Keys for Life and First Aid

Sport

As a member of the Associated and Catholic Colleges (ACC), your child can represent The King’s College in events such as athletics, swimming, and cross country.

The King’s College is also a member of the Rockingham/Kwinana sub-association of ACC, where your child can participate in the basketball, netball, soccer, volleyball, cricket, and touch football teams through a one-day tournament-style competition for these sports, offering a dynamic and engaging format that brings schools together for high-energy match days.
